Operation Extremely Boring Field Exercise is about to commence. Fortunately we will be able to ruminate on cycling via blackberry, even though that sounds like eating bikes and fruit.

WELCOME!

The Lost River Cycling Team would like to welcome two new sponsors to the Lost River family. VCRC Bike will be taking care of our bikes, lowering the resistance on all things spinning with low resistance ceramic bearings while also giving us a source of excelent bars, stems and seatposts. Recovery Sock will be taking care of our bodies, helping the team recover from the rigours of racing with their Graduated Compression technology. Thanks to them and to all of our sponsors here at lost river. Don't forget to click over to our sponsor page to see all of the wonderful companies who help us race.

Race Time

Lost River Cycling Team's Joe Patterson suffered the loss of Max, the only furry four legged member of the team. In the honor of one who loved to play in the dirt he will be the namesake for our Mountain Bike Race. Come on out Wednsday night at 1830 for some racing, and stay tuned for more to come. We will all miss you Max.

Training Series

So we are going to try to set up some Wednesday Night racing in the Grafenwoehr Area. Our plan is to hopefully alternate weeks between Mountain and Road, but we will see as things get going what our interest level will be and see from there. Currently we are working to get approval to do a Wednesday Night Crit on what may possibly be one of the more epic courses ever at Camp Aachen. The course has about 100-150m of cobbles per lap including a cobbled uphill corner. More on that as we get approval. On the Mountain Bike side of the house what we are hoping to meet up on alternate Wednesday nights at Jalisco's/Megaplay right on the edge of town to do a little Mountain Racing. Once we get this underway, expect prizes of Jak and Nathan's Home-Brewed Beer, and whatever else we slowly find. These are all going to be free, but we will hope for some help as things progress in keeping events running. If you are at all interested, post here or email us, and spread the word. Once we get approval, expect to see some signs around post and more info here.

On a somewhat related note, check the Event Calendar page to see where, when and what we are riding. We will try to post as many rides as possible before we do them so that others can join in.

So the season is upon us at last!! The team has grown, and shortly you will start seeing some more information for our team members. The first races of the season are coming quickly, on 11 April Jak, Nathan and Chris will open the German season at the Aichacher-Frühjahrsstraßenpreis Road Race. Jak will be racing the Women's Elite and Nathan and Chris will be working together in the Mens C. The very next weekend, Jak, Nathan, Chris and Joe will be opeining the USAFE Mountain and Road Racing series in Aviano Italy. On Saturday Jak, Nathan and Joe will be contesting the Mountain Bike Race followed by Nathan, Jak and Chris in Sunday's Road Race. The team kit won't be in to race in, but hopefully the results will arrive before the clothes.

The Beginning

So this is a new blog for us. After several seasons of frustration as we looked for some sort of cycling club that works with our European Location and rather diverse competitive arenas, Jak and I have finally bitten the bullet. We are starting our own team.
We are proud to present Lost River Cycling, a team consisting thus far of Jak, Myself and our friends Chris and Joe. Sponsors, they shall come, bikes, already have them, results, well stay tuned as we make our way into the world of team leadership once more
